MISTER TEEN SOUTH AFRICA

ENTRY TERMS & CONDITIONS

By submitting an entry to Mister Teen South Africa (“the Competition”), the entrant and their parent/legal guardian agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Eligibility

1.1 Age Requirement

  • Entrants must be between the ages of 12 and 18 years (inclusive) on the date of entry.

  • Proof of age (such as a certified copy of an ID, birth certificate, or passport) may be required.

1.2 Citizenship & Residency

  • Entrants must be South African citizens.

  • Entrants must be permanently residing in South Africa at the time of entry and for the full duration of the Competition.

1.3 Parental/Guardian Consent

  • As all entrants are minors, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required for entry.

  • The parent/legal guardian agrees to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of the entrant.

1.4 Exclusions

  • The organizers reserve the right to decline any entry that does not meet the eligibility criteria or that is incomplete, misleading or false.

2. Entry Process & Fees

2.1 Entry Form

  • All entrants must complete the official Mister Teen South Africa entry form in full and provide accurate, truthful information.

2.2 Entry Fee

  • A non-refundable entry fee is payable as part of the entry process.

  • Entries will only be considered valid once proof of payment of the entry fee has been received and confirmed by the organizers.

2.3 Non-Refundable Clause

  • All entry fees are strictly non-refundable, including (but not limited to) situations where:

    • The entrant withdraws from the Competition for any reason;

    • The entrant is disqualified for breach of these Terms & Conditions;

    • The Competition format, dates or activities change; or

    • The Competition is postponed due to circumstances beyond the organizers' reasonable control.

3. Competition Format & Challenges

3.1 Challenges & Activities

  • The Competition will include various challenges, tasks, workshops, appearances and online or in-person activities throughout the season.

  • These may include (but are not limited to) social media challenges, charity or community tasks, interviews, photoshoots, public appearances, personal development activities, and performance-based tasks.

3.2 Participation Requirement

  • Entrants are expected to actively participate in all compulsory challenges and activities as communicated by the organizers.

  • Failure to participate without a valid reason may result in penalties, reduced scores, or disqualification at the sole discretion of the organizers.

3.3 Changes to Format

  • The organizers reserve the right to amend, add or cancel challenges or activities at any time, and to alter the Competition structure, timeline or format if necessary.

4. Conduct & Disqualification

4.1 Code of Conduct

  • Entrants must conduct themselves in a respectful, responsible and professional manner at all times, both online and offline, including on social media.

  • Bullying, discrimination, harassment, hate speech, illegal behavior, or conduct that may bring Mister Teen South Africa into disrepute will not be tolerated.

4.2 Grounds for Disqualification
The organizers may disqualify an entrant at any time if, in their sole discretion, the entrant or their parent/guardian:

  • Breaches these Terms & Conditions;

  • Provides false, misleading or incomplete information;

  • Fails to pay the entry fee or any required fees on time;

  • Fails to attend compulsory events or participate in required challenges; or

  • Engages in behavior deemed inappropriate or damaging to the brand, sponsors or other participants.

4.3 No Refund on Disqualification

  • In case of disqualification, no refund of entry fees or any other costs will be made.

5. Image Rights, Media & Promotion

5.1 Use of Image & Likeness

  • By entering, the entrant and their parent/guardian grant the organizers and official partners the right to use the entrant’s name, image, voice, photographs, videos and biographical information in connection with the Competition and its promotion, without further payment.

5.2 Media & Publicity

  • Entrants may be required to participate in interviews, photoshoots, promotional events and media activities during and after the Competition.

  • All official content captured by the organizers remains the property of the organizers.

6. Privacy & Personal Information

6.1 Data Collection

  • Personal information submitted as part of the entry process will be used solely for the purposes of administering and promoting the Competition, unless otherwise agreed.

6.2 Protection of Information

  • The organizers will take reasonable steps to protect entrants’ personal information in line with applicable data protection laws.

7. Judging & Results

7.1 Judging Criteria

  • Entrants will be judged on criteria determined by the organizers, which may include personality, confidence, communication, community involvement, presentation, participation in challenges, and overall brand fit.

7.2 Finality of Decisions

  • The judges’ and organizers' decisions are final and binding. No correspondence or appeals will be entered into.

8. General

8.1 Costs & Expenses

  • Unless otherwise stated in writing, all travel, accommodation, wardrobe, grooming and personal expenses are the responsibility of the entrant and/or their parent/guardian.

8.2 Limitation of Liability

  • The organizers are not responsible for any loss, injury, damage or expense arising from participation in the Competition, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct under South African law.

8.3 Amendments

  • The organizers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time, and any such changes will be communicated through official Competition channels.

8.4 Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
